Spray-freeze-drying unit

This laboratory scale spray-freeze-drying (SFD) unit is suitable for granulation of ceramic powder through the spraying of a ceramic slurry in liquid nitrogen bath followed by freeze drying under optimized parametric conditions. The existing unit is able to spray 750 ml (max.) of ceramic slurry per hour. The granules obtained using SFD route has superior properties than that produced by its conventional counterpart such as spray drying (SD) with respect to homogeneity, compaction ability, and sphericity.
