विस्तृत सूचना
The Fireside Corrosion Test Facility is a high-temperature corrosion evaluation system designed to reproduce the harsh environments found in coal-fired boilers. It enables the study of corrosion mechanisms in materials and protective coatings used in waterwall tubes, superheaters, reheaters, and other heat-exchanger components exposed to aggressive flue gases and molten ash deposits. The system operates by exposing specimens to controlled corrosive gas mixtures and applied ash deposits inside a tubular furnace at elevated temperatures, allowing accelerated simulation of real boiler service conditions. This setup supports performance screening, life prediction, and development of corrosion-resistant coatings and alloys for power and energy applications.
