Overview

A tab-less 6080-sized Super Battery (60 mm diameter & 80 mm height) has been fabricated using safe, robust, chemically and thermally stable fast charging lithium titanate (LTO), and carbon coated LiFePO4 (C-LFP) as anode and cathode electrodes, respectively. The resulting device exhibited prominent charge-discharge rates up to 17C, and delivers a capacity of 5.8Ah. This is attributed to tab-less technology adopted for the fabrication of LFP-LTO super battery. This demonstrates a Li-ion battery with near-supercapacitor behaviour, and expects to address the key challenge of energy storage device having high energy and high power in a single device, indicating its promise for a wide range of applications including public transportation, regenerative breaking, power tools, and power source for drones respectively.
